Before strarting work on my own school magazine, I did a little research on the internet. The pictures I have seen on Google images show very simple, formal-style magazines with very laid-back images. At this point I realised that I do not need to focus on a very glossy airbrushed magazine front cover. Normally the pictures that are used are of students, dressed in casual clothes or they are of pictures of students working.
The masthead for the magazines are genernally the school names or a name relating to education. For example some of the names I came across were called "St Mary's School Magazine 2008" and "School Ties". Not many colours are used on these magazines except for school colours or something very formal such as black and white. I would like to add some colour to my magazine, but keeping in mind that I cannot make it bright and colourful otherwise it will take the formailty away from the magazine. By looking at some of the school magazines I had came across, I had gathered some potnetial ideas that I could use for my own school magazine.
